Lift Lobbies: Replaced 120 T8 fluorescent tubes with 120 metres of LED tape light. Replaced aged metal grilles with opaque Perspex covers.
Stairwells: Replaced 151 CFL downlights with LED porthole downlight fittings with integral controls.
Emergency Lighting: Replaced aged equipment with self-contained LED and stand-alone escape lights across the installation.
Improvement: Created a brighter environment without shadows and eliminated maintenance.

SLD has partnered with CBRE to retrofit and replace the lighting to this 3 level multi-storey car park in Surrey. The objective was to lower maintenance and energy costs and improve the lighting levels at the same time.

Car Park Levels: Replaced 250 corrosion proof T8 fluorescent fittings with 250 corrosion proof linear LED fittings including 85 emergency.
Ramps: Retrofitted 118 mercury blended lamps with LED equivalents.
Top floor Lamp Posts: Retrofitted 28 4 metre posts with 20 watt LED cluster lamps.
Stairwells: Replaced 24 2D bulkheads with 14 watt LED Die Cast IP65 fittings.
Emergency Lighting: Installed 29 switchable LED Maintained Emergency bulkheads to comply with Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (Legislation for controlling fire safety within the UK).
Improvement: Staff security enhanced by brighter lighting whilst eliminating maintenance and reducing energy costs.
Saving: £17,218 per annum (135,935 kW hours) (73 CO2 tonnes). Payback period: 31 months.
SLD replaced and improved the lighting in the Gymnasium of this excellent independent day school. We upgraded the aged, sub-standard lighting which also resulted in lower maintenance and energy costs. As a result of this we have been asked to work on the Sports Hall.

Reception: Installed 130 LED Dali controlled downlights over a base and mezzanine configuration, including emergency packs to comply with Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (Legislation for controlling fire safety within the UK).
High level pelmets: Installed 24 metres of LED tape light to create an upward ambient glow to the arched ceiling detail, which we repainted whilst installing the LED.
Reception Desk: Installed 10 metres of LED tape light to create an upward ambient glow to the glass desktop.
Improvement: By replacing the non-functioning analogue lighting control system with digital Dali controls, light levels can be controlled from the reception desk via a scene setter, increasing brightness or dimming as required.
The space now projects a crisp, professional image for this prestigious organisation; which is future proofed as no lamp maintenance is required.

Lobbies, Stairwells and Corridors: Reconfigured and replaced 76 mixed light fittings with 50 600mm x 600mm LED panels and 12 emergency packs.
Toilets: Reconfigured and replaced 24 mixed light fittings with 24 LED Portholes and 4 emergency packs. Replaced light switches with presence detectors.
Tunnels and Plant rooms: Replaced and retrofitted mixed light fittings with LED tubes to tunnels and LED linear IP65 fittings to the plant rooms.
Improvement: Lighting throughout is now of an excellent standard and lamp maintenance has been eliminated. Carbon footprint and energy costs are also much reduced.

Workshops: Replaced 300w halogen floodlights with 50w LED flood fittings; replaced 6ft fluorescent battens with IP65 LED fittings and upgraded wall lights to LED. Installed Unistrut overhead fixings for new high bay LED lighting between heating boilers. Replaced twin spotlight fittings with LED versions. Installed new dedicated LED emergency bulkheads with emergency test key switches.
Underground Alley: Replaced a mixture of 2D and bulkhead fittings with 6w LED bulkhead fittings.
Emergency Lighting: Installed switchable Maintained Emergency Escape and Standby lighting to comply with Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (Legislation for controlling fire safety within the UK).
Improvements: General and emergency lighting levels now meet required standards.

Library Room: Converted 14 high level 250w mercury high bay floods to 100w mains voltage clusterlite CFL lamps. Lamp changes can now take place using a tower, without the need to enter the loft space for maintenance of the control gear, which was costly and very hazardous.
Improvements: Lighting less harsh and now evenly distributed across the space with a 30% increase in lumens and 66% energy saving. Maintenance issues and costs eliminated by conversion to mains voltage and CFL fittings.
Saving: £2,564 per annum (22,000 kW hours). Payback period: 9 months.
SLD has partnered with the University of Westminster to deliver high energy efficiency, lower maintenance costs and an improved ambience in student accommodation, with an innovative relamp.
Corridors: Replaced old fluorescent batten fittings with new low energy t5 corridor function fittings, dimming to 10% with the use of built-in motion sensors.
Kitchens: Replaced old fluorescent batten fittings with LED battens, replaced light switches with sensors to control the lighting.
Bathrooms/Showers/WC’s: Replaced 2D style fittings with LED bulkhead fitings, replaced the pull cords with sensors to control the lighting.
Cost: £38,000. Year 1 energy saving: £18,000.
Arsenal FC wanted to illuminate the player boards which frame the stadium so that they could be seen easily by the fans approaching the stadium from every direction.
We partnered with our contractor to develop a bespoke bracket to fit the lamp posts which enabled the installation of 100w LED floodlights.
We specified, supplied and managed the installation of 23 brackets and 46 LED floodlights producing over 500,000 lumens.
The LED floodlights are also energy efficient and utilise 50% less energy than the traditional metal halides in use elsewhere in the stadium.
