Dave Brown - Manager
Dave has been involved with SLD for over 30 years, he worked his way through the warehouse, office and sales and has been the manager for the last 18 years. Dave oversees the business ensuring a smooth operation with a strong focus on customer service. He likes various sports and is passionate about motorbikes (he enjoys riding his Yamaha at the weekends, when he is not mowing the lawn!).
Kevin Nichols - Operations
Kevin has been part of the SLD team for 20 years and previously worked for GE Lighting; so he has tremendous experience and product knowledge. Kevin manages the day to day operations (from systems to customer service). He also negotiates and handles all of our stock purchasing. Kevin is a big Formula1 fan and never misses the British Grand Prix (it’s the only time you will find him camping!).
Mark Stuckey - Projects
Mark has been part of the SLD team for over 20 years and leads our project service. He is responsible for developing new business, liaising with clients and finding solutions to lighting issues and requirements.
He enjoys challenges, meeting new people and project work. With City and Guilds 236 part A and 2360 part 2 under his belt he has led some of our prime projects, which includes everything from surveying to installation.
Mark is a self-confessed lighting nerd, he was recently caught checking out the new lighting equipment in the maternity ward whilst his wife was in labour! Mark is very family orientated and takes his two sons fishing almost every weekend.
Ricky Read - Project Co-ordinator
Ricky has been in the electrical wholesale game for over 15 years now and joined us to specialise in lighting 4 years ago. He assists Mark with our projects business and co-ordinates installations, often against tight deadlines. Ricky is our customer communications guru who keeps you informed about new products and exciting offers. He is also our very own Twitterholic and makes sure we stay in touch with you by regular tweets @SLD-London.
David Evans - Field Sales
David is very experienced in the lighting business, having worked in the industry for over 30 years, previously with Philips Lighting. As an external salesman, David’s responsibilities include customer advice and service, whilst developing new business throughout London and the South East. David is a football fanatic who has followed England for many years. Formerly, though many years ago, an international chess player.
Dave Kirrage - Warehouse
Dave is your warehouse guru. He has over 40 years’ warehouse experience, with 11 years’ experience in the lighting industry. He can pick, pack and despatch your package to site in central London same day. Dave enjoys running a tight ship and making sure you receive your orders on time.
Kay Moynihan - Administration
Kay has been with SLD for 7 years and is responsible for accounts payable, health & safety and various other admin duties. She is a keen negotiator and makes sure we get the best value for money and treat our suppliers with respect. Kay lives in the country and enjoys the good life with her large family and growing menagerie.
Maria Johnston - Accounts
Maria is responsible for the daily processing of Sales Invoices, Credit Notes, and Goods Returned paperwork. A big part of her role is ensuring smooth and accurate processing of customer invoices. Maria enjoys designing our product flyers. She is a life-long Dr Who and Star Trek fan.
